Christmas Eve at the Weirich's is when the real party happens. Which works out nice with having a relaxing Christmas morning as individual families. It's the way they were raised, the only difference now is Santa used to come for them before them went to sleep on Christmas Eve but we have Santa come Christmas Morning.

Adleigh making Daddy wake up bright and early Christmas Eve.

The big giant Christmas Eve Steak Dinner. We are getting a bit too big for the table and 3 of the siblings weren't even there.

After dinner we went to go see the lights at the park on Main Street.

Adleigh and cousin Jordyn (Kim's girl) enjoying the kids area. Adleigh worships Jordyn and follows her everywhere.

Family Christmas tree picture. (This was the picture that made me decide it was time to get a real camera and not just use a phone.)

They were holding hands most of the time we were at the park.

We spent a good deal of time watching/petting the carriage horse. We are too cheap to ever pay for a ride though.

AND...

We got lucky and ran into Santa since we were too lame to take Adleigh to see him at a store/when we took her once it was $20 for a 4x6. We figured she would have the above reaction so decided not to fork over the money. The funny thing is she freaked out when Jordyn went up to Santa; before we even took her near him. I knew there was no point in trying to hand her over to Santa.

Pre-Christmas Eve present time.

Yup, definitely need a real camera. The sad thing is this was the best one out of about 5 shots...

The whole Weirich clan. Missing Matt, Victor and Darren.

Mamaw and all of her grand kids! Mamaw spent the past year making something special for all of her grand kids and gave it to them.

Adleigh opening her special gift.

Her beautiful quilt! Don't let her expression her fool you: she was really excited. Just pretending to be camera shy.

She held onto her blanket for a while!

Some of the kids and their blankets.

Then the blanket was forgotten for a moment when Papaw got her a ginormous grumpy cat. Papaw was going to get her a kitten and Brian said no... so this was payback. Notice Brian's face. :-)

Opening up some more of her presents from Mamaw and Papaw.

Jordyn came and helped Adleigh out. Luckily Adleigh didn't care.

Adleigh got another one of her favorite things: a baby doll. She was very impatient waiting for Daddy to get it out of the box.

Adleigh in her Christmas Eve PJ's with some of her spoils. :-)

  1. I can't decide what is more hilarious, that HUGE cat or Brian's face! Those quilts are gorgeous. Lucky Adleigh to have such a talented Mamaw :)
