November 25th - 26th 2017

We literally left Grandma's 80th party we drove and drove until we hit Kanab Utah. Luckily the kids were either sleeping or watching movies so the drive wasn't bad. We got to the hotel around 12:30 am, let Penny out for a break and then headed to bed. (We left everything in the truck bed, I was paranoid the WHOLE night but it all stayed there.) Unfortunately for me; Austin and Breydon were not sleepy since they had slept most of the drive down. I entertained them for a while and luckily they fell back asleep.

Selfies aka how to quietly entertain a child!

Crazy kids!

The next morning we ate some breakfast at the hotel and then took Penny for a nice long walk. I  have never actually explored Kanab, just spent the night there many, many, many times as a child driving from Tucson to Logan, Utah. It is actually a really pretty town wish we would have had more time to explore.

Adleigh had to ride her bike, she is a little obsessed.

We loaded back up into the truck and headed on our way. Adleigh "fell asleep".

So we never ever stop while we are driving except for gas, bathroom and possibly food; usually it is food at the gas station. But we decided to pull off in Page Arizona to look at Glen Canyon Dam. It is what makes Lake Powell and then after is some pretty stellar views of the Grand Canyon. Adleigh posing for the picture and Breydon totally ignoring me.

The evolution of Adleigh's pose and Breydon still ignoring me.

Austin and the Dam. Just happy to be free from his car seat.

We walked down some sandstone steps to get a closer view of the canyon.

The closer view and my dog setting a terrible example for my children. They immediately tried to follow her over to the edge.

The beautiful stone chair that is actually better for dancing on.

And jumping on.

Dam Family!!! :-)

Of course they had to play in the sand.

Finally heading back up to the truck. Did I mention I was paranoid this whole time about someone stealing stuff out of our truck bed? No one did, thankfully!

Check out those view though! Totally worth the stop!

Being wolves because thats what you do in nature. Adleigh also managed to spot a painted rock and that totally made her day.

Then we loaded up the kids in the kennel and headed on our way to Tucson... lol.
