November 25th 2016

REI decided to not open up for Black Friday and created a campaign to Opt Out of Black Friday and go outside. We decided to do just that and headed up to Flaming Gorge to cut more wood and then go hunt for Christmas trees.

While then men were cutting wood, Breydon found the perfect Christmas tree for him.

Adleigh and Avery enjoyed watching the men cut the trees down.

Brian and his tree hauling brothers. Someone on Facebook compared them to the men from "7 Brides for 7 Brothers". It actually fits very well since there are 7 Weirich boys and some of them have red hair.

Breydon is afraid of sledding but not this... crazy kid.

Then we went on the hunt for a perfect tree. We found some we loved but they were growing right next to a river. I was the only one who had read the rules and reminded everyone that we could only cut trees 20 ft away from the river. So then we had to go find a different spot. After Rick and I went on a long walk we found some good ones down in a ravine (yes we are picky). Luckily the cars ended up being able to get closer to the ravine than we expected and so we didn't have to haul them as far.

Adleigh found a baby tree that she loved.

Watching while Rick cut down his very large tree.

The area we were in had lots of beautiful 10ft + tall trees but our ceiling only allows for a 7ft tall one.  We found this scrappy one with lots of character and decided it was the one!

It was really hard for Rick to cut down the little tree for Adleigh.

Loading the trees up to take to all the different houses. We had 5 trees and 3 of them would be going all the way to Texas! After this we were all supposed to head to Utah for the blessing of our nephew Ethan but Brian got a call saying that he had to be into work the next day. :-( So we took our tree to our house and then everyone else headed to Provo. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because Breydon started barfing Saturday night and then Adleigh and I started Sunday night.
