June 10th - 11th 2016

After realizing that Hank's personality was not a good fit for our lifestyle I did a lot a research trying to find a dog breed that would work well for our family. Lesson learned find a reputable breeder (Hank was supposed to be an Aussiedoodle he was actually a Border Collie!) Anyway... we wanted a shed free dog that was not toy sized who would be great with kids, be able to go on all our outdoor adventures but still be able to be calm in the house. I narrowed it down to two dog breeds the Wheaten Terrier and the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. The Wheaten would need hair cuts so we went with the WPG and have never been happier. Ok well Brian could be happier, lol. He wants a Mastiff again but that will have to wait until all our kids are old enough to withstand being barreled over by a 50 lb puppy. :-)

After finding a good breeder with a dog that was due to welp soon, we put down a deposit and waited 7 long weeks before we got to pick our pup. The breeder lived 6 hours from us so we picked her by pictures, personality description and some help from the breeder. One week later we headed out to my Grandparents house in Nibley, Utah so the next day I could drive out to Tremonton, Utah to meet the breeder halfway.

Breydon had a rough so waking up at 7 to go get the dog was a bit hard. :-) The plan was for me to sneak out and be home with the dog before the kids woke up but Adleigh woke up right as I was leaving. She was devastated that I would go pick the dog up without her. So I loaded her up in her pajamas and we took off!

Meet Princess Penny! It was love at first sight for Adleigh. :-) Adleigh also picked her name. One of her favorite movies right now is Bolt and Penny is one of the main characters.

What a little sweetie.

Two peas in a pod

Breydon loved Penny too but neither would stay still together long enough for a picture.

Glamour shot

Best friends already.

Taking our little puppy to her new home!
