Well after 4 wonderful years of BYU track, Brian is officially hanging up his spikes.

We had planned for Brian to continue on in his running career after he graduated. Ya know, train for the olympics and what not... But... Brian got a sweet job offer that we couldn't turn down.

Professional runners just don't make quite what professional football players do... However professional football players have a life expectancy of about 50. So I'm glad I married a runner :-)

Anyway....

Brian ran his last college race in Oregon (in the town where the brand Nike was created which was pretty cool). It was regionals, which is like the semi-finals for track. He ran great but due to a lot of crap, that still makes me mad, he did not go on to Nationals.

This ended up being a tiny blessing because his new job started the week of Nationals.

So... Last week we went and cleaned out his locker.

Going into the locker room

Poster about the National Champs on the door :-)

Coming out with all of his stuff!
Yes he is hold four bags of spikes and 4 completely new running shoes. :-)

In the SFH there are display cases with pictures of the current members of each BYU team. This is Brian's picture.

When you win a National Championship a big poster is hung up in the SFH forever and ever.

At the track office.

Here are some highlights from Brian AMAZING college running career.

National Champion
BYU track & field captain
BYU cross country captain
MWC athlete of the week
Several MWC championships and runner ups.
Tons of first place finishes :-)

I'm really going to miss watching him run! It was so much fun watching him achieve so much as a runner. Also, he has an amazing running form and looks pretty sexy in his uniform :-) However we are pretty excited to start our new adventure together.
