Last Saturday we were lucky to be invited to go boating with a family from church. Apparently the area around us has lots of lakes we just haven't taken advantage of them!

We picked up some Subway sandwiches for lunch and headed out to the lake! It was a great day, not ridiculously hot and with just a little breeze. We also were on a pontoon boat which has a nice sun shade. It was great because Adleigh didn't get too hot!

The lake does have a rule that anyone under 12 has to wear a life jacket so we bought Adleigh one...

She HATED it... Not to mention her large head didn't really fit well in the hole.

Ok fine I'll wear it if I have to... :-)
We mostly just draped it around her so it looked like she was wearing it. And didn't buckle the head part around her.

It must not have been that terrible because she fell asleep. She did really great on the boat and never cried at all!
Unfortunately one of the floats on the boat sprung a leak :-( So we had to get towed back into the boat dock before we sank!

But the water was really warm and there was a part of the lake that was really shallow so we spent the rest of the day swimming in the water.

Adleigh in the water. She liked it better than we thought since she still isn't a fan of baths. When I first put her in she squeaked pretty loud but I think it's cuz she thought I was dropping her in. But as long as well held her she was content.

It was a great day! Also it was nice to get out and enjoy nature!
