Adleigh
2 Months! Yay!
5:39 PM
Happy 2 months Miss Adleigh! We are sure glad you are around!
We don't know your current stats because that appointment is tomorrow... Mommy is not looking forward to this appointment. Seriously 5 shots in one day!?! Cruel.
Currently you are wearing size 3 month outfits but that's only because we have about four outfits in 0-3 months. 3 month outfits are pretty big on you.
Your current nicknames are Squeaks (because of your sad crying noises), LeLe (because I REFUSE to have you called Addy), Chubbers (obviously, look at your cheeks!), and Baubbers/Bob.
You smile at Mom and Dad a lot, especially when we play with your cheeks and mouth.
You like it when we mess with your arms and make them wiggle. You smile and make noises when we do this.
You are a people watcher! In fact you stared down one of my young women at church pretty much the entire class time yesterday. You don't like laying in our arms because you can't see stuff.
You desire constant attention. So you can only stand being left only or being put in a bouncer/swing for about 10 minutes (sometime way less depending on your mood). You would be content in our arms all day!
You love being outside. If you are getting grouchy we go walk around outside and generally you are much happier. You have a happy look on your face whenever we are outside.
You are still nursing every two hours during the day. We trying to prolong it but that makes you really mad. Luckily you can go 4-5 hours at night.
Along with eating every two hours you have started to get a bit of a day schedule. Eating for 40 minutes. Being alert for 30 minutes then getting cranky for about 10 minutes while we try to get you to fall asleep. Then you nap for maybe 30 minutes and the process starts over again. Also we can forget about laying you down during that nap, if we do you just wake up!
If you wake up early we can usually get you back to sleep by patting your bum or stroking your forehead.
We discovered you sleep best at night if you are nursed laying on the bed. Once you are asleep you then are transferred to your crib... Unless mommy falls asleep... Whoops!
You make the best faces and keep us pretty entertained. The smile is an obvious one. Then your uplifted eye brow is awesome. You also have a great shocked faced, your eyes get huge! And you have a great pouty face! You stick your bottom lip out quite well... We keep trying to get a picture but it doesn't usually last long.
We just missed the pout... It turned into a cry. Especially since we were laughing instead of comforting you :-)
We love your long eyelashes, upturned nose and pouty lips!

Fun photos! Makes me want to drive to Texas tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Have you considered the idea that maybe she's not getting enough milk from you? I know it's a tough thing to think about, been there done that with both kids, but still eating every 2 hours that may be the reason. You might try supplementing a couple ounces of formula (or extra milk if you have pumped at all) after a feeding and see if she eats it. Then you could be sure one way or the other. Even if you're producing enough, it may be like Lizzy was and she just has a hard time getting it from you. When we tried that test with Bella around 2 months she downed 4 ounces of formula after what I thought was a full feeding.
ReplyDeleteSoooooo cute!! Bo would only eat that often also. Peter made me give him a bottle once after I fed him and he downed it. I felt horrible. Like I had starved him. Then I started pumping and giving it to him in a bottle. That way I knew exactly how much he eas eating. I also gave him four oz of formula a day. After that he would eat in ten min and be full for over three hours. he was so much happier after that. also Ye went from sleeping four hours to eight. It's crazy how many factors go into feeding. Good luck!! Seriously such a cutie.

ReplyDeleteHe was always above 80th percentile but pumping just made it so he would eat faster and be happier longer so I could finally get out of the house! Nursing worked but It was just what I was willing to deal with.
ReplyDeleteThat's the good thing about being a mama is no one knows your baby as good as you and you do what's best for you and your family:) that's just what worked for us.
