December 9th
We saw that Catalina State Park had a kids day that was free other than the prices of driving into the park. Since the Blood cousins were still gone we figured this would be a good distraction for my kids. Luckily my Mom was kind enough to come along and help me.
Looking at some nasty Arizona bugs. Gag! Scorpion and wasp. |
There were lots of different snakes and a few that we could touch. Obviously not the venomous ones. 😆 This one is a King snake. |
Lots of different specimens of creatures found in Arizona. |
They also had some pelts from the mammals that live in the area. The coolest ones were the javelina and cougar. |
We also learned abut the different rocks in the area. We got to see a rock that floats and a rock that draws! |
Mommy was brave and held a snake. |
Pretty sure some people would have freaked seeing the snake near my baby lol. |
They had an area where you could dig for cool specimens. Adleigh found a shell and Breydon found the big prize of the day a real fossil! |
Coloring at the kids station. |
We got to hold a baby King snake. |
Adleigh was brave enough to hold the snake this time! |
Even Breydon decided the baby snake was cool enough to hold! |
We decided to go on a little hike since we were already there. |
Taking a little rest and enjoying the view. |
Oh look, Austin was there too. My K'Tan carrier is the best! |
Those views are amazing! Arizona desert is the best kind of desert. |
Austin got some napping time on Grandpa. |
Apparently he was so worn out that he managed to sleep through a game of Halo as well. |
