August 6th 2017

Brian and Adleigh signed up to do a Spartan Race in Eden Utah. Brian had gotten off work the night before pretty late. So we had to wake up super early to drive to Eden before Brian's race started at 8am. Brian was doing the Super race which was a little over 8 miles with about 26 obstacles. Adleigh did the 1/2 mile race. :-)

My cute Racers!

So proud of her headband!

Her hair worked perfectly with her headband.

Once Brian got started we had to trek up a huge hill to watch him do a few of the obstacles. This is a picture of the guy who won over all and you can see us struggling up the hill haha.

We went with friends from church and so all the kids played in the dirt waiting to cheer their Dad's on.

The 2nd obstacle we got to see Brian on!

The bucket carry full of rocks. Brian was pretty tired at this point in time.

Some of the professional pictures. This is the sandbag carry.

The barbed wire crawl. He has an energy chew in his mouth just fyi.

The A Frame.

The fire jump at the end!

Brian totally ran faster than what I expected and we couldn't find him on any of the last obstacles but Breydon was really excited when we finally found him! Brian gave him the arm band that all the Competitive level racers are given.

Adleigh looking like a tough girl waiting for her race to start.

Breydon showing off his cool arm band. He was feeling very left out since he didn't get a headband.

Adleigh's race started!

The balance beam

Going down the A-Frame.

Finally the mud pit!

Oh look, I was there too! My friend snapped this picture of me, in fact this is the last pregnant picture I have of myself. I was exhausted by this point in time and I didn't even run the race!

All the racers and the little boys who were sad they weren't old enough to run.

Does she look tired to you? We drove from Eden to Cache Valley to go see my grandparents.

Bath time! This is how dirty I got and I was even wearing tennis shoes.

The final results for the competitive group. Not bad considering he really didn't train at all for this and only had about 4 hours of sleep! Crazy story about the race. So the wave of competitive racers behind Brian's group ended up having two different guys go down  with crazy emergencies and have to get airlifted off the mountain. They ended up knocking off 3 miles of the race because they decided it was too hard. Brian did say that this race was a lot harder than he expected and heard it was the hardest Super race they offer.
