We planned a partial Weirich family campout a few months ago to celebrate the end of high school football season and the freedom my bro-in-law Chris now has on the weekends.

Consequently it also landed on Veterans Day and 11/11/11. so we had triple the reasons to celebrate (did I mention 11 is my lucky number and was my jersey number!)

So we drove about an hour away to the ranch of a family friend in the "mountains" of Texas.

Pretty HUGE mountains huh? :-)

My father-in-law also wanted to show us that Texas does has a fall season.

So Texas does have a slight fall season :-) We even got to see a bunch of changing maple leaves... Never thought Texas would have maple trees.

Everyones favorite puppies came a long as well!

As I was getting in the car Dude jumped in and ran over to Brian and Roxy then attempted to get on my lap! So we felt bad leaving them...

We did regret bringing Roxy the 5th time she decided to use our heads as pillows. :-)

Dude did fabulously! He should end up being a pretty good hiking and camping dog. We camped next to a cliff and Dude rappelled down it a few times... And it didn't even phase him!

The family had all the typical camping foods... Hamburgers, hotdogs, peach cobbler, s'mores and jalapeño poppers!

Caleb, Logan, Allison and McKenzie chilling while the adults pack up.

With 10 adults and 4 kids we ended up having 4 large tents set up. My sis-in-law Jessica took pictures of the tent city and the group... Hopefully she posted them on facebook!

With our tent!

Mamaw riding in the back with the grandkids...

Dude was there too!

All in all it wads pretty fun camping trip! We wish that it could have lasted longer! We are looking forward to the big week longWeirich reunion in Yellowstone next year!
