So Brian and I got engaged on October 22, 2010. Which is gonna hopefully be easy to remember 10-22-10. I had actually already forgotten the exact date but was able to remember by looking at a calendar. :-)

I knew the engagement was coming because we had talked about it... Plus he made me sit with him to call and reserve the temple... So I pretty much new it was coming. :-) however, after we reserved the temple I told him to wait a few weeks to ask me. He asked me about three days later, which is great because I totally wasn't expecting it!

We had a triple date planned with our friends Jake & Sabra and Chase & Alexa to go fourwheeling on Friday night. I actually got asked to work a shift that night a seriously considered taking it because I felt sorry for my manager. Luckily I didn't because Brian would have killed me :-) The boys left early together to go pick up the fourwheelers and to scout out a location that wasn't illegal to play on. I went over and hung out at Brians since I still lived in Orem at the time and didn't want to waste gas driving home.

While I was waiting I decided to play on my computer, Brian had taken it to school that day so it was in his backpack. While gettig it out I found the ring box! Now earlier in the week Brian had made me promise not to look in the box if I found the box (he is very traditional, he picked the ring out all on his own!) So I put it back and knew he wasn't planning on asking me!

A bit later I met up with Sabra and found out that Alexa had gone with the boys and we just had to go meet them at their spot. We pull in and just sat there for a good ten minutes. Then all of a sudden we see 2 fourwheelers fly out in front of us. Apparently where we were at wasn't legal so we had to go hide the truck and trailer so we wouldn't get ticketed. Also they had lost Chase and Lex on their way down the mountain so we had to go back and find them.

I got on the back of the fourwheeler and we sped off behind Jake and Sabra. About halfway up the mountain Brian slows down because we were literally eating the dust from Jake and Sabras fourwheeler. We waited until they were far enough away and started going. Unfortunately they got too far ahead and we lost them and missed where we were supposed to turn off. So we drove around trying to find the right path for a bit.

When we found the right one Brian sped up to the top of the mountain. When we got to the top their was a brilliant view of all of Utah county (it was night by now) so Brian slowed and we enjoyed the view. Then on my left I see this transparenty whiteish thing float up into the air. So naturally I freak and Brian drives up to investigate it...

It was a nice little campfire with a blanket and some flowers. Brian tells me that we are gonna eat and then catch up with the others in a bit: now you would think I would be suspicious by now but I wasn't. The past few weeks he had been showering me with flowers, blindfolded dates to scenic views and trip to go see fall leaves. So I just figured it was another one of those, especially since he didn't have the ring.

The flowers

Random other tibit, there was a really dark spot a bit away from the campfire. It also freaked me out... So I tried to get Brian to go look at it. He told me I could go see it after dinner. I figured it was some present or and animal they somehow killed. I let it go and focused on getting dinner ready.

So we ate a nice tinfoil dinner of beef and pototoes and carrots. Then we stood up to enjoy the view. We were overlooking the Provo temple of course :-). Brian then begins to get all romantical :-) telling me how much he loved me, how I was his best friend and how he couldn't wait to spend the rest of eternity with me. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

I, obviously, said yes! Haha.

Engaged!!

The other couples then came running out from the bushes. They had been hiding the whole time and pretty much everything I had been told was a lie to get me up there. Chase and Lex weren't lost but stayed to tend the fire and hide. Jake and Sabra needed to lose us so they could get up and hide. Brian wasn't really lost he was just giving everyone time to hide. Oh and the unnatural black area was their fourwheelers.

The boys

The girls (yeah they looked much better than me that night, haha)

We all had some hot cocoa and replayed the events of the night. Apparently Lex almost gave away their position by standing up and waving at Brian... I didn't see it though. :-) We also took tons of pictures that I need to get from Lex still, haha.

After we got cold enough, the boys peed on the fire (I too may have peed on it) and then we headed down the mountain. We got back to Provo and began the mass calling and texting to let everyone know the good news!
