Going to the Coast Day 1
8:26 PM
Brian drove to Colorado and back (for work) right before we left for our trip to the coast for Rick's birthday celebration. Since Brian & Bush drove basically two days straight they let Brian take off a day early for the vacation. So we got to Kim's way earlier than expected and Adleigh enjoyed playing with Jordyn.
Kim let Adleigh wake Jordyn up on Friday.
Adleigh loves being in the stroller and Jordyn loves pushing. It is a win win for everyone.
We picked Josh, Sarah and Kenley up and drove down to Corpus Christi. We met Brian's parents, Chris & Jessica (and kids), and Erica & Stephen for lunch. We ate at Pier 99 which is a tradition for anytime we go to Corpus. They serve delicious seafood and your table has an awesome view.
Ian liked the ocean way more than Adleigh but was nice enough to come and join her watching the waves.
Definitely preferred to watch the ocean than stand in it.
Funny story. After leaving the restaurant: we all went to our vehicles. Adleigh started freaking out so I pulled her out while we were waiting for everyone to load. I handed her over to Brenda and when I tried to take her back she refused to come. She even shook her head NO at me. So we moved her car seat over to their truck and she got in and was happy as a clam. Silly Bug! This is the photo Rick sent to us later. She fell asleep just as they were getting to Port Aransas.
After lunch we drove to Port Aransas: you have to drive your car unto a ferry in order to reach the island. (We also did some shopping on the way, it was Tax Free Weekend!). Then we all unloaded our crap into the 5th wheel and headed out to the beach.
Family Beach Shot. Probably the only time Adleigh wore her sunglasses the whole trip.
The boys doing what they do best.
Beach bums!
Adleigh was not a fan of the water at first. But eventually decided she liked dumping sand on people.
However she did NOT like it when someone else would dump sand on her (i.e. Daddy).
She didn't seem to mind being buried though. As long as it was gently placed on her and not thrown at her.
Sandy Baby and Mommy.
After we headed back to the 5th wheel and Rick grilled some fajitas for us. Uncle Josh was then the hit of the party and read everyone some books. Next came the fun sleeping arrangements. Everyone was supposed to camp but the forecast called for temps only dropping into the 80's that night. So Rick, Brenda, Stephen, Erica, Jessica, Sarah and 3 kids crammed into the 5th wheel (That only has one bed and a tiny futon).
Brian, Adleigh and I with Josh, Chris, MacKenzie and Alison decided to tough it out in the tent. When we were going to sleep it was still in the 90's. Adleigh still passed right out and slept the whole night in her pack-and-play. I changed into a sports bra and my swim shorts and was able to sleep thanks to the nice ocean breeze. Brian and Josh wimped out and went and slept in the truck with the A/C on.

Looks like a fun week? How'd all the baby cousins do sleeping together?
