23 Weeks and Christmas at the Weirich House
5:40 PMI finally remembered to get a picture taken! This was at Young Women's with the Primary tree. Brian thought it was a good background :-) But I did wear a shirt that makes me look nice and pregnant!
My friend Jody (who is just a week or two behind me in pregnancy) blogged about how a friend told her that her face is getting fat (it's not!) but I totally feel like that's where all my weight gain has went... Straight to the face. :-(
I've also gained about 18lbs. I complained to my doctor at my checkup last week about the gain. I've been trying to watch what I eat and I've been pretty consistent with exercising but still at almost 20 lbs and barely halfway. He told me not to worry about it and to just keep doing all the right things... So hopefully the weight gain will just slooooww down a bit!
I'm going back to the Doctor next week for an ultrasound because my previous ultrasound showed a slight abnormality. For those of you who don't know you actually have two bags of amniotic fluid the chorion and amnion bags. Normally they fuse together and you can't tell a difference but mine haven't. The doctor didn't seem too concerned but just wants to make sure it didn't get bigger.
He told me the main risk is Pre-term bleeding and labor which is not a super big deal. I also researched it... And found that it can also be an indicator of genetic abnormalities like Downs Syndrome. So I'm going to grill him for more information next week :-)
As for the baby, she is moving around like a crazy person! I have actually seen thing resting on my tummy move from her kicks and I have seen my tummy move a few times... It's cool but also weird.
Brian also finally got to feel her move! We were at Church in Sacrament meeting and she was moving like crazy so I had Brian feel... Yay!
Since we are going to be home for pretty much all of the Holidays (Brian is working mornings that week) we decorated our house pretty good! We were planning on buying a small $20 tree from Walmart. But we went to Home Depot and saw this beauty...
We couldn't resist the pretty needles, the smell and the size!
Here is is all decorated! We are still working on making/buying a star that we like...
This is it all lit up. I used the method on Pintrest where you string the light up and down not in circles... But I didn't really notice a difference... Other than not having to walk around it in circles.
We also bought a poinsettia! It's so pretty.
The outside of our house. We are only one of two houses on our road that have Christmas lights... Weird.
This is my personal favorite part of the lights. We used my big old fashioned bulbs (that I LOVE) to string around it. Funny thing is that one of our horses bit one of the bulbs and it shocked him! Lol!
Since we don't have a fireplace our stockings are hung by the space heater with care... Space heater and fireplace are basically the same thing right?
And last but not least the beautiful nativity scene my mother gave us when we got married.
Hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season as much as we are!!!

haha. Your horse must be related to your Bruce dog - except he ate the bulbs on the trees!
