2:52 PMWell since I've moved to Texas I have been super busy and haven't had time to blog much.
I have half written posts about our cruise, our trip to the Texas Coast and our drive through the Durango area. :-)
Now since my lack of blogging I have acquired some new followers...
Not blog followers!
Goat followers!
On our last trip to Utah, while we were getting alfalfa from this guy in West Mountain, I fell in love with one of his goats!
She would wag her tail whenever I fed her and stick her head through the fence when I was petting her.
The farmer asked me if I wanted her and my father in law told him that we would take her! Rick then also bought another Nanny (which ended up being my nanny's mom) to give her a companion.
We named mine LuLu and Rick's Mini Pearl.
They are Nubian goats which means they produced really yummy goat milk!
Miss LuLu sticking her head out the gate. LuLu and Mini look like twins except Mini is bigger and LuLu has a white spot on the top of her head.
If we want milk out of them they need to have babies so Rick bought a little buck. His name is Peach's Pitt (his mom was named Peach) but to tease my husband I call him Brad Pitt!
This is Pitt, he is quite handsome! But still little :-)
(ps. This post just got interrupted because the goats were so mad that I left them that they head butted a gate open [that I didn't lock very well] and were running around calling until I came out... Crazy goats!)
They discovered a tree that they really liked! I bet you didn't know that goats are actually quite picky eaters! If they drop something on the ground they won't eat it and there are actually quite a few plants here they only eat if they have to.
All three of them eating on the tree.
They literally follow me wherever I go! If I stop and stay in a general area they will wander around. As soon as I start moving they are right on my tail.
If I close them in a gate and prevent them from following, they start calling for me!
I'll have to have Brian record it, it's pretty funny!
Mini Pearl investigating my phone.
More tree eating. I was nice and held this branch down for them.
At the cows water trough. They don't like to drink out of theirs because the dogs jump and swim in theirs. Picky goats!
I love my followers!
Also we bought two calves! We haven't picked names for them yet. Current options are Oreo, brownie, Blanco and Stupid (because one likes to stand in his water trough to eat)
I don't have pictures yet but will post them soon!
